An abundance of evidence now exists
revealing magnesium deficiency as the likely culprit in sudden death from
heart attack. Recently impressive research has been presented to the medical
community in an effort to draw attention to this magnesium imperative.
The credit for this endeavor goes to
persevering scientists like Burton Altura, Thomas D. Giles, and Mildred Seelig
for their years of dedication to magnesium research.
Followers of popular nutrition have
been ensuring magnesium intake for many years based on the recommendations of
nutrition pioneers like Adelle Davis and Paavo Airola (both advocates of
magnesium for heart health several decades ago). In 1977, Richard Passwater,
Ph.D., well known champion of popular nutrition, brought further emphasis to
this mineral with his Super Nutrition for Healthy Hearts, and again in
1983 with Trace Minerals, Hair Analysis and Nutrition (with Elmer M.
