Put Your Immune System to Work
A fully functioning immune system is
our greatest asset. In the book, The Immune System Cure: Optimize Your
Immune System in 30 Days, nutrition journalist and author Lorna
Vanderhaeghe focuses on how to put our immune system to work for us. She
writes, "Increasing rates of cancer, heart, and degenerative diseases are
a barometer of society’s overall ability to fight off disease." And
adds, "Diseases unheard of in the early part of the 20th century –
fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, celiac disease and a host of
autoimmune disorders – [are actually] diseases of an immune system gone
awry." Stating "Prevention is the key," Lorna teaches that good
nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices (especially regular exercise) can give
us the protection we need. In themselves, these two tenets strengthen our
